The Great Wall of China is a long and winding wall that spans across the grasslands and the deserts. The wall stretches out 6,700 kilometers and that translates that into 4,163 miles from east to west of China. The wall dates back around 2000 years ago. The wall is no longer fully intact and there are parts that have been destroyed and some have disappeared all together. Though it remains one of the greatest sites in the world.
The wall was put up through the Qin, Han and Ming Dynasties. The wall was built in the Spring and was used by the warring states as a defensive state. The Yan, Zhao and the Qin states mainly used these as a defensive wall. Many repairs and reconstructions came through the years. When the wall was first built it was the wall it did not become the Great Wall until the Qin Dynasty.
The wall was joined together when Emporer Qin Shihuang has workers complete a solid wall for strictly protection purposes. After the unification of China the wall protected China from Attila and the Huns. Since that time, the wall not serves as a great reminder of history, when people tour the wall you can feel the history of the wars of the past.
The Wall is very long and cannot be covered in one or two days by foot. There may be a vehicle or scooter rentals you can do to see the complete wall. It is a sight to see
